My Work Close up!
March 5, 2020
Day 5, close up:
I do a lot of close up shots of my work. I love the little blooms that the watercolor makes or the oil paint does when they are diluted. The pigments create an interesting effect.

Depending on the relationships of the pigments together or if they are opaque or translucent they will react to each other in different ways. They will sometimes repel each other or harmonize with each other. And it makes an interesting edge when it dries. Both the oil washes and the watercolors will do this and I find it so exciting!

Sometimes I love taking photographs of my watercolor works when they are still wet, because the reflection of the light on the droplets of color look so cool!

With my animal portraits I get really detailed with the fur. I love to show the flow of the fur by directional brush strokes.

So here are some of my close ups of my works. Enjoy!
